Sant’Antioco, off the south-west coast of Sardinia, is the fourth-largest island of Italy and still has stretches of coast that no car road reaches. The tour links them with dirt tracks, municipal and provincial roads where vehicles are allowed.
The stages below are the usual outline. Depending on the day, the guide may change the order or skip a stretch for ground, weather or safety reasons, and the group stops 2 or 3 times to look around, rest and take pictures.
There is no off-track driving: the tour only uses tracks and roads open to vehicles, out of respect for the island’s unspoilt places.
Briefing, safety gear and a practice session inside the ranch, so every driver gets used to the quad before leaving. No previous quad experience is needed.
A watchtower above the south coast of the island, with a view over the beach of Turri and the open sea towards the south.
The southern tip of Sant’Antioco and its former signal station, one of the widest viewpoints on the island.
Dirt tracks through the interior and along the coast, where the island is at its quietest.
Back along the west coast towards the ranch, with a last look at the coves before the finish.
This is not extreme off-road driving and nobody is timing you. The quad is simply a fun way to reach parts of the island you would never see from a car, at a pace where you can actually enjoy the view.
Groups are kept to a maximum of six quads, so the guide can keep everyone together and tell you the history of the places you pass.
“…stops discovering the island and breathtaking views.”
